Step 1 Claiming Centrality, Paragraph 1-5
The author establishes the topic by explaining that critical thinking and critical writing are important and essential in education. This statement aligns with the purpose of Step 1, which is to demonstrate that the research topic is important and relevant.MOVE 2 : Establishing a niche
Step 1A Indicating a gap, Paragraph 6
The sentence “becomes a research gap that still requires further investigation” directly indicates that previous research has not yet been able to address the issue in the EFL context.MOVE 3 : Occupying the niche
Step 1 Announcing present research, Paragraph 7
The phrase “the present study aims to” is a very typical phrase for Step 1 in Move 3. The author states the purpose of the study being reported. The author clearly states the subject of the study is the needs of English language students in learning critical writing at the university level.

Participant2. a. Overall, my findings regarding the interview guidelines are consistent. The recommended guidelines, as exemplified by Ijal, share several similarities, starting with their structure (title, abstract, introduction, methods, findings, discussion, conclusion, and references).
b. Based on the interviews I observed, the standard requirements for the various sample articles are largely the same: a clear statement of the problem, the use of APA style for references, a consistent writing structure, and compliance with other relevant guidelines.
c. One of the challenges discussed during the interview and in the materials is that at least 80 percent of the reference articles must have been published within the last five years. This is because, for some topics, it may be necessary to seek out more in-depth references due to the publication year restrictions.
3. Similarities : All of these guidelines share certain common features, one of which is a clear and systematic structure (IMRAD).
Differences : Ijal guideline analysis is more in-depth and critical, whereas other samples are typically more descriptive (though not always).
Pattern : Overall the high quality of artcle usually has clear research focus and consisten.Daffa
Participant1. From what I have learned about the process of writing a scientific article, once I have chosen a topic, I, as the author, must gather and obtain numerous valid references related to that topic so that the subsequent steps can be well structured and proceed smoothly. Additionally, the article submission process involves a fairly lengthy sequence, starting with peer review, followed by revisions, and finally publication.
2. A high quality article must have characteristics such as a proper structure, a clear focus on the issue at hand, and the use of research methods appropriate to the topic being addressed, not to mention a low plagiarism rate. One challenge authors may face is ensuring their articles have a low plagiarism rate when checked, nearly all groups encounter this difficulty.
3. The first finding is that journals serve as a platform for articles. The second finding is that, after selecting a topic to begin writing an article, the next step is to search for and obtain articles to use as references for my research. One of the tools that can be used to find these references is Google Scholar. When searching for references, it is recommended to select articles published no more than five years ago. Mendeley can be used as a tool for citing references. In agreement with other groups, we all agree that Google Scholar is the most frequently used platform for finding references.

Participant1. A few days earlier, I had read an article entitled “Genre-Based Approach: Its Contribution to the Quality of the Teaching and Learning Process”. I found the article on Google Scholar and was intersted by it because I wanted to know how the GBA influences classroom learning.
2. This article has a good topic and presents good research findings, as it shows that GBA itself has limitations that affect students abilities. however, the challenge I faced while reading was that some of the vocabulary that unfamiliar to me.
3. Discussion.
There are so many academic terms that I need to look up first to understand their meanings and implications. Additionally, I feel that the discussion is too lengthy, with numerous references, and doesnt seem to get straight to the main point.
4. In my opinion, by reading articles like the one mentioned earlier, reading can improve my writing skills because I can learn about proper structure and word usage, how to express ideas, and I can also expand my vocabulary after reading the article. -
