My interview findings align with journal guidelines, especially in terms of following the scope, structure, and template, as well as keeping plagiarism low. Both articles also reflect these aspects. However, the interview highlights more practical aspects, such as the involvement of multiple reviewers and the long review process.
b. Practices in the selected articles
Both articles show proper academic structure, especially in the introduction and abstract, which include the purpose, method, and results. Article 1 discusses general teaching strategies, while Article 2 is more specific and contextual (Kurikulum Merdeka). This shows that good articles are not only well-structured but also focused and relevant.
c. Challenges and strategies
The challenges from the interview, such as mismatch with journal scope, weak introduction, and high similarity level, are also addressed in the materials. Both articles reflect strategies to avoid these issues by maintaining clear structure, relevance, and appropriate academic language.
3. Key similarities, differences, and patterns

Participant1. From my findings, writing a scientific article starts with preparing a clear topic and following the journal’s structure. After submission, the article goes through a review by reviewers, and revision are often required. The waiting time varies, from a few months up to one or two years, depending on the journal. Authors can also contact the journal for updates.
Compared with other groups, the common pattern is that the process is long, involves multiple revisions, and the review stage us the most critical part.2. A high-quality article should have a clear and focused research, follow the journal’s template, match its scope, and have a low plagiarism level (below 20%).
Common challenge include rejection due to mismatch with the journal, weak structure (especially in the introduction), and high similarity levels.
Similar to other groups, both quality and acceptance depend on relevance, structure, and originality, and many authors struggle during revision.3. I learned that understanding the structure is very important. For example, an abstract must include the purpose, method,subject, results, and novelty. Following journal guidelines also helps ensure the article is acceptable.

Participant1. The article i read was titled “An Analysis of Teachers’ strategy in Reading Comprehension.” it discussed how teacher use different strategies to help student understand reading text more effectively. I read this article recently as part of my academic learning, and i accessed it online through a journal website. While i reading it, i felt interested because the topic is closely related to my major, but at the same time, i also felt a bit challenged due to some complex academic language.
2. This experience was memorable because the topic is relevant to my future career as a teacher. It gave me insight into real classroom strategies. However, it was so challenging, especially because of the formal language and the way the arguments were presented. Some parts required deeper focus to fully understand the meaning.
3. The part i usually find the most difficult is the methodology section. This is because it often contains technical terms, research procedures, and detailed explanation about data collection and analysis. Sometimes, it is hard to follow if i am not familiar with the research design used.
4. Reading journal articles helps me improve my academic writing skills several ways. it exposes me to formal academic language, proper structure, and how to develop strong argument. i also learn how to organize ideas clearly and support then with evience. In addition, it helps me understand how to write each section of an academic paper, such as the introduction, methodology, and discussion.
